Music Video
The Idea: Include the artist, Men’s and Women’s basketball team, coaches, cheer, dance, mascots, and other fans in the video. Focus was to have the talent dance and be hype about the music so the in-venue fans would get energy and hype from it.
The Need: Create a music video for social and in-game video board entertainment - song by Thaddaeus Washington.
Role: Director and Editor
Pre-production: The marketing coordinator scheduled the talent. I created a storyboard to fit with the lyrics of the song and made a list of equipment and assigned roles to talent to help direct on shoot day.
Post-production: Since my storyboard was key to the process, this made the editing process very simple. I synced the song with my videos, color graded, and made sure it looked exactly right. I formatted the file to fit the video board settings. The music video was posted to social media to get people excited about our home games and used during games to give the crowd energy.
Production: Once the equipment was set up, I directed the talent while referencing my storyboard. I shot various shots and did some retakes to ensure capturing the right shots.
Outcomes:
Unique content to promote home games.
Enhanced fan experience.
Cross-promoted Toledo basketball to a new audience by collaborating with Thaddaeus Washington on social (over 14,350 views, 734+ likes and reactions).
